SKINGRAFT.........

Wovens, knits, leathers, and suede = the best mixture for menswear. I'm a huge believer that men's fashion should be as fun as woman's and why not apply some concepts and techniques to achieve the "fun look". Playing with different textures is a start but to achieve something really fun adding draping effects is always a great way to go. SKINGRAFT  does the trick they like to play around with different textures to come up with a masculine and soft look, I love how they use draping in their work and how they manage to keep men looking like men.

Skingraft is a Los Angeles based design house led by designer Jonny Cota and brand manager Chris Cota. Skingraft produces full ready-to-wear collections for men and women. FUN-FACT Nicki Minaj wore a custom leather hooded corset and belt in her new music video fot "Stupid Hoe"

My Wonder World...

My wonder world=my studio/room is filled with patterns, fabrics, projects, books, more patterns, more fabric, and Carlos V (the best chocolate ever), water bottles, and awesome music. As much as I try to keep everything in place and well organize it's impossible but I'm pretty sure that's nothing new coming from a design student. Having a small room, sewing machines, pattern making tools, yards of fabric, an awesome cutting table( also know as mom's old diner table), and Lola my dressform it's a lot deal with but not impossible.

I like to keep a board of inspiration; I clip random things that inspire me ranging from sports, fabric swatches, etc...

I'm sewing snake skin yeiii...This is a mini collection I'm trying to get done for the summer.

My wall has a unique decoration... Yes random brown shapes know as my pattern work, I found my wall to be very useful for keeping my patterns clean and in one piece.

Meet Lola...Most of the time she's naked but for this occasion I wanted to share my first creation with everyone. This was my final project for Pattern Design I at El Centro College .

It has a scalloped collar that is composed of 3 layers and all layers are hand beaded.

Because he's got a pretty, exotic face and cool name, and maybe he throws hard(no doubt about that, he's one of the four best pitchers in Japan). Personally I'm extremely exited for the Rangers...Yu Darvish is the key to new and fresh styles here in Texas. Japanese influence will be a major impact not only here in Texas but all over the US. I'm looking forward to see what men are going to be wearing after having Yu for a few months.

                                                    

it's not just a day, it's a trend spotting day yeiii!!!

Educating the eye to what's going on with fashion in Denton was quite an exciting experience with the exception for the "may I take a picture!!?" part of it, which made me feel a little awkward. I was pleased to see how students are not ready to say "bye, bye!!!" to scarves and I decided I wanted to show how we Texans wear scarves: most girls are wearing scarves with light cardigans, jeans/leggings and don't you dare forget the boots, meanwhile guys keep it simple by wearing light sweaters or just long sleeve shits with sneakers.

The Secret Drops are always those that come from an unexpected place which is never revealed to the eyes of the human. One must create a world in which we can set our minds free and let them create as many impossible things, but then again we are only humans. There are several things that inspire me but the one thing that controls my mind and gets me going is music. I believe that music allows my heart and mind to travel different places and time periods by just closing my eyes for a few minutes and taking part of the scene. Also the personality of an artist or just a common street person are seeds of inspiration that live in my world. Music, culture, people, and myself are my main inspirations, and to have a great inspiration one must have a lot of them.
